Imaginary Safari

Did you know?

Making up ideas and stories together will build trust and positivity between you and your child.

How to play

1. Turn a room into an 'imaginary safari' - you can create a fort or den out of chairs as your 'lookout'.

2. Both create pretend binoculars with your hands and scan the horizon; ask your toddler what they can see.

3. Encourage your toddler to describe the scene. Build on their ideas - if they spot a giraffe, point out its long neck.

4. Keep looking out for lots of different animals and jungle activity.

Top tip

Try to build on the ideas your child comes up with, no matter how strange! (e.g. yes, a giraffe can be purple!)
