EasyPeasy is a mission-led social enterprise committed to supporting parents, carers, and early years practitioners to give babies and young children the best possible start in life and close the gap in school readiness. We believe in a world where all children have an equal opportunity to reach their full potential, and our vision is for every baby to have the foundation for a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life.
Our theory of change is evidence-based and simple: early child learning and development is fueled by real-world, meaningful, and playful interactions between parents, caregivers, and their children. In their first years, a child's brain develops more than at any other time in their life and 90% of a child's brain growth happens before the age of 5. However, whilst a survey conducted by The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood found that nine in ten people agree the early years are important in shaping a person's future life, less than a fifth recognise the unique importance of children’s development from birth to the age of five.
Parents have a significant influence on children’s early developmental outcomes; shaped by a child’s home learning environment and the quality of interactions in the home. EasyPeasy equips families with the tools they need to transform everyday parenting moments into playful learning experiences and create the playful, positive connections that will help a child grow and thrive, using everyday materials that they already have access to at home.
We are passionate about the power of tech solutions in improving public services and driving the digital transformation of local government services to better serve communities up and down the country, and reach a new generation of families and caregivers. Our digital solution for the early years is designed with sustainability, scalability, efficiency, and AI technology at its heart; recognising the need for innovation in the public sector, and the adoption and integration of transformative tech-based solution to meet the challenges of today’s society.
We believe that children’s needs and voices should be at the heart of decision-making and we are proud to support national campaigns, such as Children at the Table and First 1,001 Days Movement, to drive forward the national agenda of the early years. At the core of what we do is belief in the transformative power of early intervention and prevention in supporting the physical, cognitive, behavioural, and social and emotional aspects of child development.
Such is the importance of the early years that a child’s development at 22 months is a predictor of where they will be educationally at the age of 26. EasyPeasy is approved in the Early Intervention Foundation Guidebook and has been found to improve children's likelihood of achieving a Good Level of Development through independent evaluation commissioned by the Education Endowment Foundation. We are proud to have bridged the gap in school readiness across 194,000 families nationwide.
Through our local authority partnerships, now in all regions of the country, we integrate with health and education networks including health visitors, midwives, nurseries, primary schools, and children's centres to support and upskill community teams in the core areas of early intervention, the home learning environment, and achieving outcomes for babies and young children. We are proud to have trained hundreds of early years practitioners up and down the country since 2017.
According to the EIF, "the EasyPeasy programme has evidence of enhancing school achievement for children, and supporting positive outcomes for couples, parents, and families. It has a low cost to set up and deliver compared with other interventions reviewed by EIF."
Through independent evaluation conducted by the Education Endowment Foundation, EasyPeasy’s support offer is proven to improve the Home Learning Environment and children’s Good Level of Development outcomes.
We are proud that EasyPeasy's health and child development content has been accredited by the Patient Information Forum and awarded the PIF TICK; the UK’s only quality mark for trustworthy health information.
